Gems Veterinary Urgent Care is open Thursday through Monday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. We are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

What is the difference between urgent care and a 24-hour emergency vet?

Urgent care handles prompt, non-life-threatening medical issues such as ear infections, minor wounds, vomiting, diarrhea, hot spots, or mild lethargy. For life-threatening emergencies like active seizures, severe difficulty breathing, bloat, or major trauma, please proceed directly to a 24-hour emergency hospital like VEG.

Do I need an appointment or do you accept walk-ins?

Walk-ins are welcome Thursday through Monday between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM. You can also join our virtual waitlist from home to save your spot before arriving.

Do you treat cats at Gems Veterinary Urgent Care?

Yes, we provide urgent care services for both dogs and cats in Centennial and surrounding communities.

How much does an urgent care visit cost?

An urgent care exam fee covers a complete physical evaluation by our veterinary team. Any additional diagnostics, medications, or treatments will be presented with a clear estimate for your approval prior to proceeding.

We were seen promptly, and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel reassured and cared for. They were kind, attentive, and compassionate throughout the entire visit. Our cat (who is a cherished family member and who is generally nervous with new people and places) was very calm during the process so that was a good indication as well. Our cat had to undergo “minor surgery”, but the staff made sure to give us great post-op directions and Gavin did check in’s to make sure our cat was doing well and let us know that they are available for any follow up questions or concerns that we have during her recovery process.

I did not hesitate leaving our cat in the hands of people who immediately treated her with such kindness and respect. We are truly grateful for finding such a place that provides the efficient care, professionalism, and compassion that it takes to provide stellar vet services. I’m very particular about finding a vet I can trust. After calling and visiting several practices, I decided to establish our dogs’ care with Gems, and I’m so glad I did! Although Gems is an urgent care practice, they also offer general veterinary care.

Dr. T and her team are wonderful with our dogs. They are compassionate, kind, and attentive. They truly listen to my concerns and take the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed.

Both of our dogs have had health issues, and the team has always been able to get us in the same day when we’ve needed care. Their hours also work very well with my busy schedule. I especially appreciate Dr. T’s calm, knowledgeable approach. She explains the options without pushing unnecessary tests or procedures. If I ask about a test that wouldn’t add useful information or change the treatment plan, she tells me honestly. That means a lot to me.

Recently, I found a few small lumps on one of my dogs. Dr. T examined and aspirated them, and one turned out to be cancerous. She scheduled surgery for the very next day to remove it and send it for biopsy. Everything moved quickly, and both the surgery and recovery went very well. Dr. T has continued to support us while our dog receives treatment from an oncologist, and we are so grateful for her ongoing care.

I trust Dr. T and her team with my dogs. It’s clear that they truly care about their patients and the pet parents—and they are excellent at what they do. I highly recommend Gems!

Allowed her to roam the room (although she opted to hide behind me), gave her treats and affection to help her stay calm. All treatment went to where she was instead of on the exam table. They had a quilted cover so it would be warm and comfy for her. While it was not inexpensive, it was a much better experience (and less expensive) than an ER visit. Lovely and caring staff. Great place to go when you have an emergency. One phone call and they'll let you know if an ER visit is necessary.

Not only did they take incredible care of my dog, but they also offered my children snacks and a movie in the reception area so I could focus on the appointment and have a moment to decompress from the stressful situation. I took my dog to Gems because I didn't want my dog to have to wait so long for care. We were able to see a doctor right away. Everyone was super kind and the place is new and clean.
